Recently, I was inspired to do vision boards. I always thought it was something that DIY Youtubers do that’s fun and aesthetically pleasing, lol.
There’s more to this pretty looking board. Vision boards can be done on paper or digitally through your favorite drawing boards like Pinterest, Figma, Keynote, and PowerPoint.
As I began my voyage of my dream boards, I started with what I want for my husband and preparing myself for marriage. Then, I went onto my goal for a car as well as that of a home and wedding.
Get your visions on the board in 3 easy steps!
1). The why
Ask yourself why you are doing this. In my case, why do I want a husband? I want to pray for my husband and prepare myself for marriage. I have a deep desire for marriage and kids. In my time of singleness, I have grown a lot but as it is not an easy season, you have to keep yourself motivated for the great blessings ahead as well as know what you want.
2). The what
What do you want?
What are some things you are trying to improve on?
What do you want to achieve?
What do you envision?
These are key questions I asked myself in the case of what I want in my husband. I pinned posts that had characteristics I wanted in a man as well as Bible verses that help keep me motivated and prepare myself for marriage.
This process was very reflexive as I thought more deeply about not just what I want in a man, but how I can prep myself as a wife; what I need to work on or keep in mind.
3). The how
Including the how is key. Including pins or images that embody how you’re going to achieve your goals.
Goals without objectives are simply dreams unfulfilled.
Having objectives and even benchmarks can help keep you on track with doing what you need to do to achieve your goals. I included written and visual posts of how I want to be as a wife including Bible verses such as Proverbs 31 girl and who I’m called to be as a wife.
As I continue my journey with vision boards, I can look back and see what progress I’ve made. Vision boards are not simply your dreams displayed on paper or a screen, but they are images of things hoped for with motivation to take actionable steps toward achieving your goals.
What are some vision boards you have or will start? I want to know. Let me know down below.
In the meantime, Happy Envisioning!
