20 minutes. That’s all it takes to reach your fitness goals. Whether you have an at-home gym or not, 20 minutes is a great place to start when working out. During shelter in place, my workout routine has been off and on, not the most consistent, but I try to keep my body active.

Too hot outside? At home workouts are great because you can get a quick workout in while having your fan or A/C on.

My challenge this week and throughout shelter in place is to do 20 minutes of working out for at least 3 days of the week.

Yes, everyone wants to be in shape, but to get there and to stay consistent, you need to set objectives for your goals.

While we don’t have a gym or class to go to right now, we can still get just 20 minutes in.

I usually do crossfit and yoga as well as my own workouts outside, but since shelter in place, I’ve had to turn to at-home workouts or outdoor workouts. I usually do ones on YouTube or come up with my own.

Being intentional is something we all need, especially during this season of waiting. Just doing 20 minutes for 3 days of the week will help me to stay active and working out clears your mind and keeps your brain sharp as well. Take a digital detox and get some self-care in with a quick 20 minute workout. Do yoga, HIIT training, running, or any desired workout for 20 minutes! You can do it!

What’s great about this target time is that you can apply it to other areas of your life. For example, for me, I want to do at least 20 minutes of reading my Bible a day and then gradually increase it. Whether it’s reading, journaling, meal prepping, anything in your life, be intentional with a clear target in mind. Starting small with your goals and building them up will help you achieve your goals!

Partner up

Here are some other things to help you stay on track. Have a partner to keep you accountable which also helps to push you to bigger heights! We’re not made to do this life alone. Two are better than one (Ecclesiastes 4:9), so grab your partner and get on your 20 minute journey, whether it is working out or setting aside more me time (try to do so without a screen).

What do you love to do that helps you to reflect and unwind? Let me know in the comments below.

Ready? 20 minutes starts now…
